La Posada Hotel opened in 1930 in downtown Winslow, Arizona as a Fred Harvey railroad hotel, designed by architect Mary Colter, who considered it her finest work. The property sits on Route 66 and today houses the Turquoise Room restaurant, art exhibitions, and gardens, and is recognized as a Historic Hotel of America.
